First Day of School!

I love the beginning of school! It is so nice to get a fresh start, establish more structure, and I find it easier to really engage with my kids as we learn together. Real quick I want to put up their pictures from the first day of school. (I didn't get Helen's before we rushed off to drop her off, and I am kicking myself for it!-Sorry Helen!!)
My 1st Grader, Jonah Ananias Pavlik-So cute!

Also very cute

Aaaagghh, they are all so cute I just can't decide-take 'em all!

Jude Paul Pavlik -he is in what we are calling K4

So excited!
Love that kid

Yep, here she is Idelette Edythe Pavlik. The title explains it all...

Trying to give a thumbs up ;)

Yeah girl, you have no idea....
Here are a couple pics of Jonah's first day at Access, an enrichment program for homeschoolers at Frontier Academy.
Idelette shot this one herself, because I was moving to slow

That's my boy, he is off to "Is it magic, or super cool science!"
I love my kids, and am so excited to see what God has for them this year. Thank-you to all of you who posted first day pics of your kids as well. We love seeing them!! We pray that God blesses all of us as we begin a new year of teaching and training our children to walk in His ways. I pray that each of our children will continue to add Wisdom and Humility to the Knowledge they gain.

Helen!

Okay this is very late, but I have to document this time! August 2, and 1am in the morning I picked up a sweet beautiful girl from the airport. Xiong Yuhan (she goes by Helen here), came to live with us for the 2013/14 school year! I have to say, we have been so blessed by her presence in the home.
We have thoroughly enjoyed being "parents" to a teenager so far. We are enjoying all the long talks about chinese culture, the differences between the people in the US and China, school activities, boardgames :), yummy food, help with learning Chinese, long shopping trips, brushing up on math skills (not successful), and seeing the joy Helen brings to our children having a big sister.

After a fun day at Waterworld! (Susie, Helen, Fiona, Cait, Erin)

Helen and her friend Susie (fun times trying to explain a wedgie in the Waterworld parking lot)

Helen (re)piercing her ears!! (I don't know why but I felt honored to be there with her on this momentous occasion). The "Champs" sign above her head was well placed-she handled it like a champ!
Helen loves Morrow, and Morrow loves Helen!

The girls with a pretty sweater that Helen's Grandma made for Morrow on her birthday, and a cute origami heart card from Helen!

We love that Helen shares our love for boardgames! This is the fave so far, Takenoko. It is a Japanese gardening game with a panda that goes around trying to eat your bamboo. So fun!
One of Helen's ridiculously hard math SAT study questions. I don't even know what the question is asking. Helen is so smart! :)

Well, this will be all for now, but homecoming, driving permits, basketball are right around the corner. So you will be hearing more about our sweet daughter Helen!! Love you girly!
